RICHARDS—GARMON SWAY

On Saturday, April 16, Knox Presbyterian Church, Inglewood, Taranaki, was the scene of a very pretty wedding, when the marriage took place between Rita Evelyn, daughter ot. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Garmonsway, of Mataroa, and Allan Wallace, third son of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Richards, of Pihama. Taranaki. The Rev. Stewart performed the ceremony and Miss G. Tyran, a friend of the bride, presided at the organ. The bride entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr. H. Garmonsway, wearing a lovely frock of brocaded satin crepe cut on slim fitting lines, with an inset goddet in the front of narrow pleating, making an extra fullness for the long train which fell in graceful folds at the back. Her lovely long veil of silk tulle prettily embroidered in scallops was held to the head by a novel headdress of deep cream roses and fell to form a train. She carried a beautiful boquet of cream chrysanthemums and dahlias.

Attending her as bridesmaids were Miss N. Garmonsway (sister) and Miss June Campbell, Opunake (cousin of bridegroom). Both were dressed alike in apple green dull finish crepe. Their frocks were made on a new line with the new swing back to form a semi-train. Crystal buttons trimmed the back, whilst a rhinestone broach ornamented the neckline. Haloes of pink roses were worn and they each carried bouquets of pink dahlias and maidenhair fern. Mr. Bob Campbell (cousin of bridegroom) attended as best man and Mr. Don Forsyth, of Pihama, was groomsman. After the ceremony nearly 100 guests were received at the Parish Hall by the bride’s mother, who wore a black and white ensemble and carried a bouquet of red dahlias. The usual toasts were honoured after the bride, assisted by the bridegroom, had cut the beautiful, threetier wedding cake. After the reception the happy couple left by the Union Airways from New Plymouth for Auckland for their honeymoon. The bride travelled in a brown and lemon floral frock, brown fur cloth coat, hat, shoes, purse and gloves to tone. There future home will be in Inglewood, Taranaki.
