Everywoman’s Health Centre.

Members are asked to note that there will be no Monday classes next week, but all classes are requested to attend at 7.30 on Wednesday. Gonville Croquet Club. Members of the Gonville Croquet Club are invited to be present at the annual meeting of the club to be held in the pavilion next Wednesday, May 4 at 2 p.m. Dance Club.

The Druids’ Hall with its myriads of coloured lights, combined with the unparrelled success of Billy Larkin and his aces will undoubtedly prove tonight to be the ever-popular rendezvous of all those who like the best associated with dancing. A special feature this evening will be the presentation of the brilliant and successful ballroom demonstration. Jimmy James, who will be seen to advantage in the latest 1938 dance routines. Dancing enthusiasts should not fail to avail themselves of this superb evening's entertainment. Croquet Club Card Parties.

Last Tuesday evening members of the Durie Hill Croquet Club commenced their popular weekly cara parties. The party was held at the home of Mrs. Ogier and six tables were in play. The winners proved to be Mr. and Mrs. Wansbrough, Mrs. Glover and Mrs. Tulloch. The fruit cake competition was won by Mrs. A. W. Boyd. On Thursday afternoon Mrs. Lance Fields, of Durie Vale entertained a number of friends at a jolly card party* to help augment the funds of the croquet club. Those present were Mesdames Fieldes, Cock, Hanks, Merrington, Sherlock, Richards, Wybur, Dixon, Bourgeois, La Roche, Burton, Walker, Wansbrough and Ogier.

Special Electrical Demonstrations. Ladies of Wanganui and district are advised to take advantage of the special series of demonstrations in the use of electricity for cooking, etc., hewing held in the Power Board’s rooms [next week. The demonstrations will |be in the very capable care of Mrs. E. [Barrington, one of the leading cookery 'experts in the Dominion; for years she I has been demonstrating the uses of [electricity in the house in the larger [centres and is now engaged in similar iwork in any part of New Zealand for ' the associated electricity undertakings, j Those who have seen Mrs. Barrington at work know that not only does she impart, much useful information but i that she is able to do this in a way that makes her demonstrations enjoyable entertainment. She will be in Wanganui for one week only, and details of demonstrations will appear in our advertising columns.
