GERMANY’S CONDUCT TALKS BY BRITAIN USELESS. [ British Official Wireless.] RUGBY, March 18. Lord de la Warr (Lord Privy Seal) presiding at the annual conference of the National Labour Party, referring to the international outlook, said after Austria no one felt that the policy of continued discussion with Germany was practical politics for the time being. Every rule of conduct and humanity had been defied and trampled on by the iron heel of a ngem that saw no argument but that of force. The Minister added that the speech of the Foreign Secretary in the House of Lords made it clear that he had been driven to th conclusion that the cause ot peace to-day demanded firmness as well as appeasement.
