NINE-POWER PACT
JAPAN’S ATTITUDE APPEALS FOR DENUNCIATION. TOKIO, March 18. Replying to appeals in the Diet to denounce the Nine-Power Pact, which guarantees China’s independence, the Foreign Minister (Mr. K. Hirota) admitted that most of its provisions had not been fulfilled in the light of realities. The natural outcome would be the treaty’s denunciation which would possibly be done at an opportune time. It foreshadowed withdrawal from the International Labour Office at Geneva but the maintenance of relations with the .ermanent Court of International Justice.
