OHUTU GOLF CLUB. The second annual meeting of the Ohutu Golf Club (Parapara Road) was held at the clubhouse on Saturday evening. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Russell McLean and there was a good attendance of members. The balance-sheet showed an excess of receipts over expenditure of £l3 7s 7d. The report and balance-sheet were very favourably received by members. Mr. L. F. Baird stressed the appreciation of the club of the wonderful assistance and interest of Mr. J. R. McLean. The following office holders for the forthcoming season were elected:— President, Mr. J. R. McLean; vice-pre-sident, Mr. Walter Wilson; club captain, Mr. L. F. Baird; ladies’ captain, Mrs. K. Baird; committee, Mr. and Mrs. C. Boyd, Mrs. C. Wilson, Mr. L. McLean and Mr. F. C. Malpas; secretary, Miss J. McLean; auditor, Mr. T. E. McLean; green superintendent, Mr. Malpas. For the purpose of lengthening the course so that it would comply with L.G.U. conditions, Mr. Baird brought forward the proposal of altering the course by making the first tee by the clubhouse and the first hole by the corner of Lewis’ house. If this were done, and the Totara hole eliminated, Mr. Baird estimated that they would have a full course of some 5400 yards. The proposal, following discussion, was agreed to. It was agreed to cut the greens once every three weeks and a roster was drawn up for this purpose A "general purpose” working bee is being called for December 5. On this occasion tees, greens and the clubhouse are to receive attention.
