GOOD-NEIGHBOUR POLICY
TO SAVE CIVILISATION MR CORDELL HULL RECEIVES LL.D. Received Oct. 24, 9.25 p.m. TORONTO. Oct. 23. On the occasion of the Toronto University granting the degree of Doctorate of Laws to Mr Cordell Hull, Mr Mackenzie King, the Prime Minister, took as his text, President Roosevelt’s Chicago speech of October 5, in which he said “he expressed the community view shared by citizens of the British Empire.” He declared that his own fervent hope was that the Brussels Conference would be successful. Mr Cordell Hull reiterated the necessity for a genuine good-neigh-bour policy among the nations of the world if civilisation were to be saved.
