ELDERLY MAN’S DEATH
VERDICT AT INQUEST [ Per Press Association. ] NAPIER, Oct. 22. A rider that there was not sufficient evidence to contribute blame to the driver of the motor-car, Percy Lewis Ireland, was added to the verdict returned by the coroner at the resumed inquest into the death of Joseph Smith, aged 67, Wellington, who was killed in Napier on October 5 last as the result of being struck by a car. The verdict was that death was due to shock caused by multiple injuries through being struck by a car.
