SECONDARY SCHOOLS
A RECTOR’S OPINION [ Per Press Association. ] DUNEDIN, Oct. 22. The rector of the Otago Boys’ High School wrote to the Board of Governors protesting against the abolition of the specialist corps in the secondary school cadets, which applied to the Lewis gun and artillery sections, and suggested that the board make a recommendation to the Defence Department that the cadet corps should be encouraged to continue the work by the provision of instructions and by a capitation grant to enable material to be purchased for the work. At present the cadets receive no capitation.
It was decided to support the rector and forward his letter to the Minister.
