KORINITI MOTHERS’ UNION
The Koriniti branch of the Mothers’ Union attended the annual Mothers’ Union gathering at Wanganui East last Thursday afternoon. The upriver branch is composed of Maori mothers and they were greeted and welcomed most heartily. After a short and most inspiring service, an afternoon tea and social was held in the parish hall, where the Maori Party also gave some items. The atmosphere of the whole gathering showed the brotherhood feeling and good fellowship, and the unity of being one—the Pakeha and the Maori.
After the gathering the Maori party visited the Wanganui Air Port, where one of the visitors took to the air in one of the ’planes. The party that made the trip are:—Sister Elsie Smith, Mesdames R. Pokiha, H. Hireona, P. Mete Kingi, J. Tuka, W. Te Ture, D. Nikorima, R. Oxley.
