AGED MAN KIDNAPPED
BIG RANSOM PAID VICTIM STILL MISSING CHICAGO, Oct. 19. G-men revealed that 50,000 dollars’ ransom was paid in a vain effort to obtain the return of Charles Ross, aged 72, retired greeting card publisher, who was kidnapped on September 25. They expressed the opinion that Ross, who suffered from heart disease, was dead, and started an active search for the kidnappers.
