Ratana Pa Speaking at the Majestic Theatre on Sunday night, after a concert given by the Ratana Maori Party and Band in connection with the Wanganui Garrison Band, Mr P. Paikea stated that it was Mr T. W. Ratana’s intention to improve the settlement at Ratana by the erection of up-to-date buildings.
Athletics in Manawatu At the annual meeting of the West Coast Athletics Centre held last evening, mention was made of the Palmerston North diamond jubilee celebrations which are to be held in the third week of next month when a special athletic meeting is to be held. Athletics in the Mxnawatu district is at a low standard at the present time and it is hoped to revive interest in the sport. It is expected that a number of local athletes will be travelling to compete.
