FLAX MILL FIRE
BLAZE AT FOXTON SIREN UNDER REPAIR HANDICAPS BRIGADE [ Ter Press Association. ] FOXTON, Oct. 14. Fire destroyed the scrutching and tow sheds of Messrs Westwood Bros., to-day. The employees were unaware ot the outbreak, which occurred at the rear of the building, until advised by employees of a neighbouring flaxmill. There was then only time to save six bales of prepared fibre. The whole place was gutted in a short time, the brigade being delayed on arrival owing to the fire siren being dismantled for repairs. Insurances were not available.
