OVERSEAS WEDDINGS

TILLER—GELL. LONDON, Sept. 25. Two New Zealanders, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie, W. Tiller, who left by the Rangitiki this week, were married on September 11 at St. Alban's Church, Teddington, states a London correspondent. The bride was formerly Miss Mavis Ada Cell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gell, farmerly well-know.i residents in Wellington. Mr. Gell was an official in the Post and Telegraph Department. For a number of years they have resided in North London. Their daughter has been on the staff of the metallurgy department of the National Physical Laboratory at Teddington. Mr. Tiller is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Tiller, of Nelson.

The bride, who wore a dress of cream poult, had a cream straw hat with cream veil, and carried a prayer book. Her only attendant was iter little niece, Meriel Brown. Mr. J. H. Brown was best man, and the service was conducted by the Rev. Lloyd Jones.

LANGLEY HOWELL. Tile wedding recently took place at Mogarban Parish Church, Fethard, County Tipperary, of Mr. Henry R Langley, M.R.C.V.S., of Thurles, Tipperary, to Miss Sheila Hindes Howell, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Hindes Howell, of Cave, Canterbury. The best man was Mr. Gilbert Butler, and the little girl in attendance was Olive Sullivan, daughter of the Rev. L. L. and Mrs. Sullivan. McLACHLAN—NICHOLSON. The wedding tok place in Belfast on September 22, of Mr. Allan P. McLachlan, assistant auditor at the office of the High Commissioner for New Zealand. His bride was Miss 1. Nicholson, a member of the staff of the Reigstrar-General, at Somerset House, London. A few evenings ago, Mr. Lachlan was made a presentation by the staff of the High Commissioner's office. His health and that of the bride-to-be was honoured and cheers were given for them both. Mr. C. K. Webster, of the audit staff, went to Belfast to be best man at the wedding. ROTH—COATS. On September 15, at St. Benedict's Church, Cambridge, George Kingsley Roth, younger son of the late Henry Ling Roth and of Mrs. H. Ling Roth, of Halifax, Yorkshire, was married to Jane Frances Violet, elder daughter of Dr. and Mrs. G. W. Coats, of Paisley, Scotland, and New Zealand, and granddaughter of the late Mr. G. H. Coats, of Paisley.

Mr. Roth has spent eight years as an administrative officer in the Fiji Civil Service, and for the past year has been lecturing at Cambridge University in connection with the courses of instruction for Colonial Service probationers. While at Cambridge he obtained the research degree of Master of Science, and will leave to take up his new appointment in Zanzibar in the middle of October.
