HIDES SKINS AND TALLOW

At Wednesday’s sale of sheepskins and hides at Parnell, local tanners were quiet owing to slackness in the leather trade. .Ox hides were firm, but cow hides easier. Dry and salted skins were lower, in sympathy with overseas markets. Tallow was unchanged. Following are prices realised : Sheepskins.—Dry: Fine crossbred, Had to 12-Sd; medium crosbred, lOSit to llid; coarse crossbred, to 9id; half to three-quarter wool, Sid to lOid; quarter to half wool, 6id to 7i'd; lambs, 9RI to 12d; pelts, 4id to 6id. Salted: Best, 9s to 10s each; good, 8s to 8s 9d; medium, 6s 6d to 7s 9d; lambs, 5s to 6s 4d; pelts, Is to Is Bd.
