IMPORTED CANADIAN BOAR
An importation of interest to pig breeders throughout the Dominion and more especially the Taranaki district is Messrs. H. C. Taylor and Son’s Canadian boar “Woodburn Benefactor” (78,507). Bred by Messrs. E. Brien and Sons, Ridgetown, Ontario, Canada, and imported through the agency of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., "Benefactor” is out of a litter sister to “Woodburn Landon,” imported last year for Mr. O. V. Clausen, of Palmerston North. By “Highclere Rival” (76,291) out of “Woodburn Rose Belle 21N” (77,784), “Benefactor” is a quality pig of modern Berkshire type. He has deep, lengthy sides with a smooth top line, carrying over to wellshaped hams and is covered with a coat of quality* hair. Numerous inquiries have rrcently been made for Canadian Berkshire pigs and it is anticipated that quite a number of animals will be mported within the next few months.
