EXISTENCE OF NEW CORI’S REVEALED Received Oct. 11, 9.5 p.m. BERLIN, Oct. 11. The existence of a new German army corps was revealed when it was announced that General Von Weichs, former commander of the first mechanised division, had been transferred to Nuremberg to command the thirteenth corps. Hitherto the army has comprised twelve corps. The total strength of the regulars is estimated at 650,000. FOOD CONSERVATION “ONE DISH” SUNDAY INGERMANY Received Oct. 11, 9.5 p.m. BERLIN, Oct. 11. The first “one dish” Sunday in connection with the winter help campaign was observed throughout Germany. All restaurants, instead of the usual variety, provided only one dish o£ stew made from an ollicial recipe. GERMAN CHILDREN RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION CATHOLIC BISHOP ATTACKS DECREE Received Oct. 11, 10.5 p.m. BERLIN, Oct. 11. The Roman Catholic Bishop of Berlin, in a pastoral letter, condemns strongly a Nazi decree forbidding religious instruction in schools by priests, and deciares as a countermeasure that children will be instructed in rooms attached to churches. Parents are asked to support the Church and ensure that the children are not alienated from their spiritual instructors by hostile elements.
