NAME DRAWN FROM HAT

NEW CHAIRMAN OF AUCKLAND HARBOUR BOARD.

[ Ter Tress Association. ] AUCKLAND, June 8. The election of a new chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board was decided by the drawing of a ballot paper from a member’s hat. The luck of the draw gave the position to the Hon. T. Bloodworth, M.L.C., who has been a member of the board since 1923. When the ballot papers were counted it was found that Mr. Bloodnorth and the other candidate, Mr. R. T. Reid, had each received seven votes. Two ballot papers were therefore placed in a hat and the one bearing Ihc row chairman’s name was drawn out.
