TONG-HAMBLYN

In St. Andrew’s Church, Inglewood, last VWednesday, Archdeacon F. G Evans, assisted by the Rev. Mr Hickson, officiated at the wedding ol Leslie Owen, elder son of Mr and Mrs P. W. Tong, Okaiawa, to Frances Muriel, elder daughter or Mr and Mrs Frank Rundle Hamblyn, inglewood. Escorted by her brother, the bride wore a striking model gown ol ivory embossed satin beaute, falling to a train. Her graceful tulle veil was surmounted by an orange blossom coronet. A shear or lilies was carried. Miss Rona Hamblyn, the bride’s sister, and Misses Eunice and Maj Hanwright wore similar bridesmaiu frocks ot eau-de-nil lace finished with apple green panne velvet sashes, mu Jis and ruched headbands, ana each wore dainty green ,satin slippers. Valerie Baker, cousin of the bride, as flower girl, wore checked eau-de-nil frilled georgette, and carried a basket ot lemon and gold flowers, and autumnary foliage. David Baker, as train-bearer, wore a blacK velvet suit with frilled eau-de-nil georgette blouse. Mr lan long was best man, and the groomsmen were Messrs Gordon and Alan Tong. At the reception in the Town Hall supper room, 120 guests were received by Mr and Mrs Hamblyn, the former wearing a smart navy blue costume and navy hat, her bouquet being of uronze and gold chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. Mrs P. Tong, mother of the groom, wore a costume of bottle-green herringbone tweed with matching hat, and her bouquet was autumn-snaded. On the reception table a handsome fourtiered wedding cake was placed under a white wedding bell. When Mr ana Mrs L. Tong left on a motor tour of the north, me bride was in a tunic suit of nigger brown, worn under a matching coat with toque and matching accessories. Both the bride and bridegroom have many friends in the Patea district, where they recently resided.
