A FIVE-DAY WEEK
Auckland CITY council OFFICES CLOSE ON SATURDAYS [ Per Press Association. I AUCKLAND. Nov. 26. The introduction of the five-day wek for its officers, involving the closing of the Town Hall offices on Saturday mornings, was approved by the Auckland City Council. This will involve the staff working an additional half-hour, from 4.30 p.m. to 5 p.m., on the other working days. It was agreed that it would not be possible to close the Central Library and it was decided that the position there be further considered by the Library Committee In view of the fact that 24 officers are required to control traffic on Saturday mornings, it was decided to appoint.'four additional officers so that members of the traffic staff mny be riven a five-day week.
