The annual tournament of the Wanganui Lawn Tennis Association, which is to be played from Jauary 1 to 5 next (inclusive is being looked forL ward to by a large following of tennis enthusiasts, particularly in view of the fact that the tournament is being pro- ! moted as one of the Wanganui Chrlst- ! mas Carnival attractions. : The Wanganui Club’s grass courts in Nelson Street are to be used and ; complete arrangements have been 1 made by the association to ensure ’ smooth running. Last year, it will be recollected, some sparkling tennis was witnessed in Wanganui on the occai sion of the annual tournament and i this year’s entries will probably be ■ stronger in every way than they were • in 1935-36.
