ANGLICAN DANCE
IHAKIRIKIIU HALL On Thursday evening a most enjoy able dance was held in the Makirikir Hall, in honour of the Rev. and Mrs Tye and their daughter, Miss C. Tye The Anglican parishioners are to b< heartily congratulated on the excel lent programme arranged for th< evening’s entertainment. There wai a large attendance of happy patrons The hall was artistically decoratec with sprays of rhododendron anc bunches of flowering cherry blossom Branches of magnolia were effec lively arranged on the window sills Popular tunes were played by the New Gaiety Dance Band, who gave a bright musical accompaniment throughout the evening. During a brief intermission MrFord spoke on behalf of the parishioners, wishing the popular vicar anc i his family every success in thei: new station, at the same time ex--1 pressing the appreciation of theii service to the community. A demonstration of the tango was given by Miss Vivienne Healy anc 1 partner. A delightful supper was served, and those responsible for the success of the evening were Mesdames Todd, Eartrum, F. M. Low, and Ford. Misses Lorraine Watkins, black crepe romaine; G. Wells, floral taffetas; L. Wylds, black morocain; E. Simpson, biscuit floral georgette; Baldwin, cherry velvet; Penn, sea green georgette; M Mitchell, blue and white silk; J. Horrocks (Auckland), Paisley tunic frock; C. Tye, eau de nil floral georgette; Simpson, green georgette; V. McLeod, red and black tunic frock; L. Hunter, lemon taffetas, E. Ford, brown taffetas; G. Priest, pink taffetas; M.
