3000 MORE MEN
:EMPLOYMENT ON PIBLK WORKS | Per Press Association] WELLINGTON, Aug. 5. The Minister of Public Works proposes to employ an additional 3000 men on national works throughout the Dominion. This will bring the total number of men employed by the department up to 20,000, a record in the history of the Public Works in New Zealand. Making this announcement to-night, the Minister said these men would be employed on various works, including railway completion, road construction, bridge building, aerodromes and river protection.
