POLLED HEREFORDS
“BUSHY PARK” SALE GOOD PRICES REALISED There was a large attendance of buyers at the annual sale of Mr. G. E. Moore’s “Bushy Park” polled Hereford bulls yesterday. The stock came forward in excellent condition and the sale was a satisfactory one. A noticeable feature of.the sale was the preference shown by breeders for the polled Hereford bulls. The stock was auctioned by Mr. J. B. Thomson on behalf of Murray, Roberts and Co., Ltd., Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., and the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. (Inc. in Eng.). The main offering comprised a line of 16 rising two-year-old run polled Hereford bulls by the double standard polled sires Prime Anarchy and Beau Blanchard, which were imported from the U.S.A. These animals were an attractive draft "and elicited keen bidding from many buyers, many of whom were unable to secure their requirements on account of the limited number offering. This line averaged 43J guineas. The following sales were of particular interest: —Hawke’s Bay Farmers, IDannevirke, at 67|gns.; Mrs. C. B. M. McDonald, Wanganui, at 57gns.; Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Nelson, at 56gns.; Balfour Estate, Pahiatua, at 50gns.; O’Neill Bros, Turakina, at 50gns.; H. C. Tod, Hunterville, at 50 and 45gns.; Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., Wanganui, at 5-Ogns.; J. Boulton, Woodville, at 50gns. Two horned bulls were disposed of to Mr. W. A. Peat, of Wanganui, at 51 and 35 guineas each and a line of 23 18-months horned Hereford heifers realised £5.
