LAMB AND WETHERS IN LONDON EWE MUTTON FIRM Lamb market: Prices shade easier. Mutton market: Lightweight wethers easier but heavyweights steady. Ewes unchanged with supplies short. Beef market: Still short of supplies; prices nominal. New Zealand porker pigs. Bettor demand at improved pr’.ees, New Zealand baconcr pigs: Market steady and unchanged. The above report was received yesterday by the Meat Board, which advises that the following are the approximate average prices realised for the week ended May 1, based on actual transactions of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of meat mentioned, and are for representative parcels of the goods offering during the week, being for business done on the basis of delivered to Smithfield market, and/or ex London stores.
