CITY COUNCIL’S INTEREST COAIAUENDS ACTION BEING TAKEN Commendation of the action being taken to explore the possibilities of AVanganui as a potential oil field was minuted by the City Council last night in the shape of an extension of thanks to Air J. B. Cotterill, AI.P., and to the Alinister of Scientific and Industrial Research for an intention to make enquiries. ”Regarding the discover/- of oil in AVanganui,” began the Alayor (Mr AV. J. Rogers). A Councillor: Did you say discovery?’ ’ The Alayor: Yes, I like being positive. (Laughter). Cr. O. Hales: What are we going to do with the airport when it is all cluttered up with derricks? The Alayor: Get a new airport.
