Good soup, plain sweets, plenty of fruit and vegetables, with preference for greens such as lettuce, cabbage, spinach, ami cauliflower, and several glarscs of water between, and occasionally with meals, were sufficient Io maintain a healthy digestion. Miss Munro said she di.l not see how a “starvation diet” could be anything but detrimental Io health. Women, on tne whole, did not require large or heavy meals, but they should eat plenty and as much as they wirh-ed of the right foods. To-day there was a great deal of fuss made about diet and health, and women especially were becoming obsessed with a. love of giininess that in many cases wat. a worry and a detriment to their health. Wise exercise and wise eating could maintain a perfect standard of bodily health and strength without producing excessive weight and without decreasing tiie natural enjoyment of life.
