EARLY MORNING FIRE
SMALL HOUSE DAMAGED OCCUPANTS' HUBKIED ESCAPE. Early yesterday morning tne Wan ganui Central Fire Brigade was calle< to an outbreak of fire at 82 Niblet Street in a smal wooden dwelling oc cupied by Air. C. Signal. Although tin contents of the dxvelling suffered con siderably, two rooms were saved. Mr. Signal and his wife and chib were awakened by the lire shortly aftc: 1 a.m. and found the house full < ; smoke. The family made a hasty exil and the brigade was summoned by Air .sigr.ai The flames were then leaping across the space between the dwelliu; and the neighbouring home of Mr. W F. Thomas. The brigade brought twe leads of hose into play and the fire xvas quelled within a short time. Air. Thomas' house had its walls scorchec but the windows fortunately were not broken by heal and consequently the interior of tbe house was not affected.
