SALE OF BANANAS
CHRISTCHURCH DISPUTE | r»r Pvm»» Aworiat on. I CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 15. The dispute over the sale of Samoan bananas in the vity is still unsettled. Mr G. S. Radley, of Radley Bros., contractors for the receipt and distribution of bananas, contends that there is no monopoly and ihe fruiterers contend that there is. They say also, that they will not buy banana* until the monoply is broken down. The dispt.le may reach its climax to-mo:row. when quantities of ripened fruit will be offered at auction. The buyers say they will continue to boycott and refuse to buy as they did this morning when a s>mall quantity was offered. Mr Radlev said to-day that if the fruit were not bought it would rot.
