RADIO AND NEWSPAPERS
COMMENT BY SIR C. LEYS. Received Jan. 15, .11.15 p.m. PERTH, Jan. 15. Sir Cecil Leys, who is returning by the Narkunda from a tour of America. Britain, Japan, China and India, said he could notice no great encroachment made by the radio on the newspapersBoth had a definite function for which they should co operate. He noticed a marked advance in the English newspapers from five years ago. The popular pres? was outdoing the American news papers in the matter of headings and display, but tended to seize upon sensational incidents, and thus was not in any sense as comprehensive os the Australian and New Zealand newspaper?.
