MONTHLY MEETING HELD THE ENGINEER'S REPORT. The Waitotara County Council heM ID monthly meeting at Wanganui yesterday, .Mr. Wm. Morrison presiding. Also m attendance were ('rs. A R Richardson. R. Laird, F. Handley A n inirood, L. T. Jones, U. I’arle/ T. Alexander, and J. Cameron. ' The county engineer (Mr. T. Dixj submitted the following report for the n.onth or December: Auckland-Wellington Highway. A contract has been let for scaling the section of highway near Maxwell, chips lave been delivered for the work and scaling will be started immediately 1 contract has also been let for reconstructing the section of highway at the five-mile peg, and work has already been started. Shoulders along the asphalt have been repaired and the pavement was also patched. White lines for guidance of traffic were renewed; slips were cleared and the roadway was metal patched and graded. Brunswick-Westmere Hiding. The Rapanui. Blneskin, Heads-Mosston and Springvale-Francis Highways Seafield. ' irgima, Handley, Smith, Syme, Brunswick, Peat and Western Line Roads were graded. The Tokomaru West and Brunswick Roads were metal patched, slips along the Riverbank,, Tokomaru Last ami West Kowhatuni Roads were cleared. Scrub and grass were cleared along the Tokomaru Fast and West Roads. The protective wall along the ■Mjwhnmin stream, Kai Iwi Beach has been repaired. Waitotara Riding.—The I'ppcr Pakaraka, Parelcama and Rangitatau West Roads, Waitotnra d'alley ami Rangitatau Hast Highways were graded. Slips were cleared and grass was cut along the Waitotara Valley Highway. Mos.ston Hiding.—The Fox and Peakes Roads, Parsons Street, and Fitzherbert Avenue were graded.’ Tokomaru Riding.—The construction of the bridge over the Rahan Stream, Ahn Ahn Rond, has been completed. Slips were cleared along the Ahn Ahu. jKauarapaoa and Watershed Roads. All | culverts have now been renewed along the Rangitatau-Water.shed between the Ahu Ah i and Kauarapaoa Junctions; water-tables were cleaned, and scrub along the highway was cut.
