ORDER OF FORESTERS. Bro. Cooke, C.R., presided over the meeting of the Foresters’ Lodge. The brethren extended warm greetings to Bro. P. Booker, P.C.R., who has been an inmate of the Wanganui Hospital and accorded him the Foresters’ Fine. Bro. Booker, in replying to the welcome, spoke highly of the hospital and of the Friendly Societies’ Association. A challenge was acepted from the Awarua Lodge for a match for the cribbage cup, on December 3. A new member was initiated with due ceremony and he was given a hearty welcome. GENERAL NEWS. The resignation of Mrs. A. Alack was accepted with regret at the annual meeting of the committee of St. Alargaret’s Troop of Boy Scouts and Cubs, and appreciation of Mrs. Mack’s services was recorded in the minutes. The meeting also referred in eulogistic terms to the work of Airs. A. L. Alayor in the interests of the Cubs. it was resolved that two parents should visit the parades each week. This is stated to be the largest number of players who have ever attended on a club day. The weather during the last two days has been delightfully fine and shearing operations are in full swing in the Taihape district. PERSONAL. Aliss D. Boshcr, who is to be married shortly was tendered a gift evening on Saturday at the residence of Air. and Airs. Jensen. Dancing on the lawn was one of the chief features of a very enjoyable social function. The guest of honour received many useful gifts. THE “REVEILLE.” The “Reveille” which is to be held shortly under the auspices of .the Taihape District High School, promises to be a great success.
