Ramsbottom presiding. Alesdames AV. White (hon. sec.), AV. Taylor, Black, A. A. Carey, L. Honeyfield, and R. S. Crawford were also present. Apologies for non-atten-dance were received from Alesdames Haddow, Wither, Bourke and Martin. The secretary reported that £1 was owing for the caretaker’s salary, and there was Ils 6d in hand. The cost of the upkeep of the room to the committee was 5s per week, and the income from the room varied from Is to 2s 6d per week. The concert at Kakaraqiea had resulted in a profit of £5 0s 4d, and this amount had kept the room going up to the present time. It was resolved on the motion of Mrs. Taylor, that Alesdames AVhite and Carey wait on the Borough Council and place the committee’s position before them, with a view to finding ways and means to keep the rooms open.
