LADY WAVERTREE VISITS N.Z.

WELL-KNOWN LONDON HOSTESS. Lady Wavertree, a well-known Loudon hcstess and renowned fur her /amour parties in connection with tennis occasions at Wimbledon, is making a first visit to the Dominion. These functions have always been held on the Monday after Wimbledon, she told the Auckland Star. For many years they took the form of large garden parties, but for the last two years a tennis ball has been held at Grosvenor House. AH the famous tennis stars of the world are friends of Lady Wavertree. Suzanne Lenglen, she said, was at present in Paris. Lady Wavartree said that she had always been interested in New Zealand. She had never been here before, ano was making this visit to see tier nephew, Mr. Vernon Sheridan, who was studying sheep farming in the country. She was very glad to escape the London winter.
