WANGANUI SHOW SCHEDULE

A quick glance through the schedule just issued for Wanganui’s coming “Show of Shows” discloses firstly an increase in prize-money of £2OO over last year’s pay-out figures. This increases amounts to roughly £lOO in both the cattle and sheep sections. In the former it is the dairy sections which have benefited in the main, while in the latter many stud sheep classes have been added together with a substantial farmers’ hogget class. Detailed profit-and-loss accounts of eath of the three horse, cattle, and sheep divisions were submitted to the respective chief stewards showing the operations of last year’s show and it will be interesting to note how each will come out this year. Two new classes have been added to th© fat cattle section and a real marathon is anticipated in the competition for the champion heavy-weight bullock. To the two classes of widest interest—hill-'country hogget and export fat lamb—easy class numbers to remember have been allotted, viz-, 50 and 70, respectively-
