GUILTY OF MANSLAUGHTER
PERTH JEWELLERY ROBBERY THREE MEN SENTENCED PERTH, Aug. 29. Matthew "Walsh, Stanley Flynn, and Cyril Brennan were found guilty of tho manslaughter of Edgar Whitfield. Charles Silverman was found not guilty. Walsh and Flynn were sentenced to imprisonment for life with hard labour, and Brennan to ten years’ imprisonnieut. Silverman was re-arrested and charged with having received stolen goods. Mathew Walsh, Charles Silverman, Stanley Flynn and Cyril Brennan were committed for trial on August 2 on a charge of the wilful murder of Edgar Whitfield. Detective O’Keefe, of Melbourne, gave evidence that Walsh in a statement said that Flynn and ho entered Claris Brothers’ jewellery store and attacked Whitfield and when the caretaker fell to the flour he (Walsh) took uiarnonds from the windoiv.
