CANADA AND DOMINION
TRADE AGREEMENTS EXTENSION BEING MADE. OTTAWA, Aug. 29. Order-in Council extending most-fav-oured nation treatment to Australia and New Zealand have been approved and will become effective on September 1. 'l’hc Minister for National Revenue (Mr. Lawson) announced that the Ottawa trade agreements gave special treatment to selected lists of goods imported into Canada from these Dominions, but since then Canada has made agreements with other countries granting most-favourednation treatment. The orders now regularise the trade relations between Canada aud tho Antipodes, ensuring their good treatment not less favourable than that accorded to like goods from a foreign country. In order to enjoy the concessions, such goods must be shipped direct from Australia and New Zealand to Canada.
