THE MOTOR REGULATIONS PALMERSTON NORTH REQUEST ( Per Press Association. ] PALMERSTON N., Aug. 27. Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, Automobile Association, City Council and adjacent local bod.es conferred to-day to consider the problem of road accidents and the need for enforcing tho motor regulations in an endeavour to make the highways safer, it was decided to ask the Commissioner of T'ansport to take steps to see that all regulations regarding traffic and equipment of motor vehicles and cycles were rigidly enforced. It was also resolved that realising the difficulty and time involved in completing an inspection of brakes and headlights, it be recommended that the Act be amended so as to provide it to be 'compulsory to produce a certificate certitying brakes and lights in acco’raance with the regulations. It was also decided to ask the local bodies <. f the district to approve the settling up of a permanent safety-first comm i 11 ee.
