OLE ANDRESEN v. HOPKINS NEXT PROFESSIONAL CONTEST wi;dni:sda Y’S ATTIO.X Local supporters of wrestling will be afforded tire opportunity next Wednesday night at •he Opera House of seeing the Xcbraskian, Ole Andresen, who will make his debut to a Wanganui audience, when he will meet tire pope lar George Hopkins, of England. The Christchurch Press said it was dillieult to understand why Andresen did not receive a straight out points decision. With McCready, as with others, he apparently baffled his opponent by the clever manner in which he used his legs both as a means c.-f offence and defence. Hopkirs should prove no mean opponent for Andresen, as in their first and only meeting the latter only succeeded in gaining the verdict by one fall to nil. As his name indicates, Andresen is of Swedish descent, though born in the Stales of America. He was a contemporary of Earl McCready at college, being the star wrestler of lowa .Slate University, when the Canadian was stariing al. the Oklohoma State College. Andresen stands lift. He is known in America as the "man with the rubber legs,” and has such amazing control of his muscles that he wriggles out of holds which would spell defeat to most matmen. Hopkins, as a drawcard has so far this season in the Dominion proved equally as goc-d and in some cities, Chrisichurch for example, better than Eari McCready. Local patrons will have the opportunity or witnessing the rc turn clash between this pair of grapplers and all things considered Wed nesday’s contest should prove one of the most interesting ever staged under the auspices of ?.he local association.
