THE SPRING MEETING LIST Ob' NOMINATIONS. With a total of 378 nominations f”r fifteen events, as against <”>4B for last year’s meeting, the Wanganui Jockey Chib has met with a satisfactory response for the spring meeting, to be held on Thursday and Saturday, September 12 and 14. The increase is fairly evenly spread over the two days of the meeting, and includes Ohe larger nomination, list, for the AVanganui Guineas, run on the second day of the fixture. fn the open handicap event, on the first day, however, a decrease is shown, the Marangai Handicap having attracted only six entries, as against eleven last year. Another decrease is disclosed in the Moutoa Hack Handicap on the second day, there being 2!) entries, as compared with 43 last year. This is, however, almost made up by the entry of 41 for the Trial Handicap, in which there wore 2!) entries last year. in the Marungai Handicap Spiral, Royal Banquet and Ruri are of good class, while in tire open sprint Mother Superior, Hororata, Gold Mission, Ji Duer, Curie, Royal Bengal, Refresher, Slippery, Haut Monde, Heritage and Galilee make an attractive list. Another pleasing feature is tire large list of maiden performers and the encouraging hurdles fields, while the two-year-old event on the, second day of the meeting has filled well.
