A women's representative hockey match will f>»‘ played next Saturday between Kangitikei and Wanganui on the Gonville Domain, commencing at 3.45 p.m. The usual series of fixtures in the women's A grade competition wil/ therefore not be played. WANGANUI ASSOCIATION MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. WINTER SHIELD MATCH. At the fortnightly meeting of the Wanganui Hockey Association executive committee ou Tuesday night Air. W. Hartnell presided. Resignation.—Air. A. G. Gov er forwarded his resignation as secretary, which was accepted with regret. Aliss O Leigh was appointed to the vacancy. Y.M.C.A. Club.—Permission was granted to Y.AI.C.A. to travel to Masterton on September 7. Representative Alatch. Arrangements were finalised in connection with the ladies’ representative match at Wanganui versus Rangitikei next Saturday. Air. R. L. Thompson was appointed manager, it was decided to entertain the teams to afternoon tea at. the conclusion of the match. Winter Shield. —Air. C. A. Condie was appointed manager of the Wanganui colts team for the match v. Taranaki at Wanganui, on August 31. The teams are to be entertained to a dinner at the conclusion of the game. Senior Representative Alatches. —It was decided to invite llorowhenua and Wairarapa to play a match at Wanganui during their forthcoming tour of Taramtki. Grounds.—A special grounds committee consisting of ALessrs. Thompson, Connell and Spurdie was appointed to report at next meeting in connection with top-dressing, etc., to the grounds at Gonville Park. Transfer. —L. Byres was granted a transfer from Technical to Hinemoa Club. Postponements. The grounds committee were appointed postponement committee for the balance of the season. WINTER SHIELD MATCH WANGANUI REPRESENTATIVES. A hockey match for the Winter Shield will be played at Wanganui on August 31 between Wanganui (challengers) and Taranaki (holders). The following colts’ team has been selected to represent Wanganui:— Goal: Allen (Hinemoa). Full-backs; Breed (Hinemoa), Alyers (Y.M.C.A.). Halves: L.
