PERSONAL. Mrs. Tosswill, of Wanganui, was Airs. Simmons’ guest for the week-end. Mrs. Reid, with Her daughter Bar bara, and sou Peter, left the Patea beach cottage on Saturday for Waikanae. Aliss Alolly McMahon, who has been on a visit to Patea, as the guest of Airs. Hamel, left on 'Friday for her home in Auckland. Mr. and Airs. W. F. Sheild and family returned on Sunday from Auckland and Cambridge. Aliss Taylor returned on Friday night from a short holiday spent in Nelson. Air. Fred Grainger was a Wellington visitor to Patea on Friday and Saturday. Aliss Maggie Gilligan is home again in Patea. Air. L. J. Hobbs, of Dunedin, visited Mr. and Airs. T. E. Roberts for the week-end. Aliss Ensore has returned to Ngaruwahia after a holiday in Patea. GOLF NOTES Many Yankee and championship matches were played during the wcekand amongst the ladies. In the championship, first round, Airs Alcßae won from Aliss P. Bourke, Aliss Harris won from Aliss Tui Gibson, Airs Roberts won from Aliss W. Hurley, Airs Harris won from Airs Alitchell. In the junior division Aliss Tompkins won by default from Aliss* H. Simmons.
