INTERESTING CASE { Ter Prow As.-nr’st’on I WELLINGTON, Dec. 18. The conviction entered recently against John Paton Hardy on a charge of stealing a woman’s capo was quashed by the Chief Justice to-day on the ground that the case was not proved. The case was of interest because after being charged Hardy married a woman who had previously made a statement to the police concerning the cape. A* a result the police were unable to use the statement as evidence against him.
