Walkei, chairman ul the Town Board, introduced Air. Bull, and said that the township was named alter Air. Bull's lather, one of the fine old pioneers of Kangilikci, and lu whom the township uweu a great deal. Mr. Walker thanked Air. Whatever the people of Bulls had undertaken, they had done well, and he had no doubt that the present carnival would be a successful one. JStreameia of coloured lights were turned on, making a fine show. The Palmerston North Brass Band played selections, and drew a large audience, while “Cavalcade” attracted a packed house in the Town Hall. Business people report that trade was very brisk. This evening the Carnival festivities will be continued, a treasure hunt being one of the novelty events. GENERAL NEWS On Saturday afternoon members of the Tennis Club attended in full numbers, firstly to farewell Mrs. Alay Alansell, who is leaving Bulls to reside in Palmerston North, and secondly to wish Air. Roy Alansell good luck in his future married life. Air. A. W. Amon, president of the club, in making the presentations, said that all regretted Mrs. Alansell’s departure. Mrs. Alansell had been a member of the club for some 25 years, and is one of the best players here. Ho wished her happiness in her new home. To Air. Roy Mansell, Air. Amon extended the. hearty good wishes of all that his married life would be a happy one. Mr. Alansell responded on behalf of his mother and himself.
