The market has eased again, however, and is back to about £3. There is not a very sustained demand from the North Island. The Kiwitea should leave almost immediately from Lyttelton with perhaps 3000 sacks for Auckland. There has been a firmer tone in the oats market. A Gartons are difficult to obtain, and the Lyttelton quote for them is about 2s 6d f.0.b., 5.1., B. ’s are not mentioned. The average quotation for onions is about £2 15s a ton on trucks to growers. THE PRICE OF PIGS There has been a fall in the Auckland schedule rates for export pigs. Current prices arc: 801 b., 4Jd; 811 b. to 100 lb, 4d; 1011 b. to 1201 b., 3Jd; 1211 b to 1501 b, 3jd. Other rates are unchanged.
