PLUNKET SOCIETY At the annual meeting of the Rae tihi sub-branch of the Plunket Society Mrs. W. H. Sandford was in the chair. The president gave an interesting review of the year’s work and the balance-sheet was read by the secretary. On the motion of Mrs. Sandford both were adopted. Mrs. Siglcy proposed a hearty vote of thanks to the president for her work during the year, which was carried by acclamation. The thanks of the sub4>ranch were tendered to Mr. Lee for auditing the accounts, Webb’s Motors for free conveyance of nurse and others who had assisted during the year. The following officers were elected: President, Mrs. W. fl. Sandford (reelected); vice-presidents, Mesdames Siiley, McDowell, T. Quayle, P. G. Smith; committee, Mesdames Fletcher, Marshall, Ritchie, N. Brown, L. Barnes, L. Fagg, Guy, Robertshaw and Proude. Miss Harris; Advisory Board, Dr. Fcltham, Messrs. Newell and Ritchie; executive committee, Mesdames Quayle, Sigley McDowell and the president. GOLF The following are the results of the first bogey competition in connection with the Waimarino Golf Club: Johns 1 up, Robertshaw all square, Marshall 2 down, Bretherton 4 down, Bowick 4 down. B Division: Netherclift 4 up. RETURNED SOLDIERS’ ASSOCIATION There was an attendance of between 60 and 70 at the annual meeting of the Waimarino branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, over which Mr. A. W. Windle presided. A cordial welcome was given to a number of members of tlie Ohakune branch of the association. In reply, Mr. E. Purdon explained that the men at Ohakune considered more help could be given to returned soldiers by the formation of the branch at Ohakune. There had been hearty co-operation between the two branches, and he thanked the presi dent and secretary of the Waimarino branch for the assistance given them. The chairman assured the Ohakune men that Raetihi would always take an interest in them and would co-oper-ate iu the work of the branch. The annual report showed a successful year and benefits had been obtained by Diggers. The branch had been able to provide 222 days’ work, towaids which the public had con tributed £56. The accounts showed a credit balance. On the motion of Air. Robertshaw the report and balance-sheet were adopted. Major Gardner proposed a hearty vote of thanks to the executive, es pecially Mr. Windle (president), and Mr. A. Hogg (secretary). This was carried by acclamation. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. A. J. Windle (re elected); vice-presidents, Alessrs. 11. J. Angus and C. D. Lynch; secretary and treasurer, Air. A. G. Hogg (reelected); committee, Messrs. Bett jcmau, Robertshaw, Asnniorc, Hartnett. Mosen, Gardner, Tuatini, Geraghty. Mather, Herbert and Heise. At the conclusion of the business a social hour was held, at which items were given by Alajor Gardner, Alessrs. 11. AfcDonald, Taura, Hepina, 11. • been and others. Messrs. Ogden and Gardner ailed as accompanists.
