W.D.F.U.

MABTON BRANCH A committee meeting of the Marton branch of the W.D.F.U. was held in the Jockey Club rooms on Tuesday, May 16. Miss Simpspu presided. Those present were Mrs. F. Brico (secretary), Mesdames D. Simpson, Stevens, A. Stuart, D. Frederick, O. Wil liams, F. H. Dexter, J. Marshall, E. Thoms and A. Wheeler. Mrs. Wood was unanimously elected io the committee and has undertaken to visit any country patients in local hospital. The secretary announced that the first number of the new publication of Women’s Division of the “New Zealand Countrywoman” would be ready for distribution on May 20. It pro niises to be a paper of the greatest interest to all women in the country. The main business of the meeting was to deal with arrangements for the Interprovincial Council meeting of the Women’s Division, which will be held in Marton on June 20 in St. Stephen’s Parochial Hall. Arrangements are well in hand for the hospitality to be extended to the many delegates who are expected.
