At the Police Court to-day, before Mr. Bundle, S.M., William Alexandei McKenzie, Thomas Wills Stewart and Stewart Walter Aluir were charged with on July 4 wilfully setting fire to a shop and dwelling owned by M» Kenzie. Detective Power stated that h< found some partly-burned cotton wool amongst the cinders in the shop. Accused, in statements, admitted the offence, tho object being to obtain insurance money. Accused pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence.
