A,.oei,Uon.J TIMABU, July 29. , With reference to the remarks of the Chief Justice, who commented adversely upon tho prejudicial comments of the magistrate who conducted the preliminary proceedings in the Mount Cook murder caw, it ought to be explained that the reference of the Chief Justice involved visiting magistrate* and not Mr. C. R. Orr Walker, resident magistrate at Timaru.
