VERY HEAVY FAT ENTRIES AN EASING IN VALUES L Per Press Association, j CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 14. There were large entries in the fat stock sections at Addington market today and’ as a result there was an easing of both fat sheep and fat cattle values. Store Sheep.—A larger entry of store sheep, including dry sheep and ewes and lambs. The sale was steady with a good demand for ewes and lambs at prices up to Is a head above values of last week. Values were: Sound-mouth ewes with lambs, to Us; sound and failing-mouth ewes with lambs, 8s to 9s 6d; aged ewes with lambs, to 6s 6d; medium 2-tooth half bred ewes (dry), 12s to 13s; ordinary 2-tooth halfbred ewes (dry), to 9s 6d; medium 2, 4 and 6-tooth halfbred wethers, 22s 6s to 13s 7d; medium crossbred ewe hoggets, to 12s lOd; ordinary wether hoggets, to 10s. Spring Lambs. —There was no change in the basis of values. Values per lb were up to 9d.

Fat Sheep.—An entry of 5660 head, the largest for a long period. The market was steady ata basis of values up to 3s a head below last market. Values were: Extra prime heavy wethers, 26s to 30s Id, prime, 21s to 255; medium, 16s to 20s; light, 12s 6d to 15s 6d; extra prime ewes, 265; prime 18s 6d to 20s; medium, 14s 6d to 17s 6d; light, Ils to 14s. Fat Cattle.—An entry of 375, including large drafts from Otago. The total constituted an over-supply and there was a general easing in values. Steers declined up to £1 a head, as did heifers also, and cow beef eased up to £1 10s a head. Prices per 1001 b were: Choice medium weight beef, 29s to 345; good prime medium weight beef, 27s to 30s; primest heifer beef, 27s to 30s; ordinary steer beef, 23s to 25s 6d; heavy weight steer beef, 24s to 28s; cow beef, 20s to 245; ordinary cow, to 20s; and rough down to 15s. Values were: Extra prime heavy steers, to £l7 7s 6d; prime heavy, £lO 15s to £l4; prime medium weight, £9 10s 9d to £ll ss; ordinary, £7 to £9; light, £5 10s to £6 15s; extra prime heifers, to £l3 7s 6d; prime, £9 10s to £ll 10s; medium, £6 15s to £9; light, to £6 10s; extra prime cows, to £l3; prime, £8 to £10; medium, £6 to £8; light, to £5 10s. Fat Pigs.—A slightly weaker demand for pork. Values were: Choppers, £2 8s 6d to £6 8s 6d; baconers, £2 8s 6d to £2 14s fid; heavy baconers, £3 to £3 2s fid; extra heavy baconers, to £3 14s Cd; average price per lb, s£d to 6d. Porkers, 38s to 41s fid; heavy porkers, 43s to 4Cs Cd; average price per lb, fid to 7d.
