SUBMARINE PERISCOPES
AN ORDER FOR BRITAIN AMERICAN NAVY DEPARTMENT [ British Official Wireless. ] Received Oct. ]?, 7.5 p.m. RUGBY. Oct. 12. The United States Navy Department has placed an important order for submarine periscopes with a British firm, says the Daily Telegraph, which adds that the contract is a striking tribute to the quality of tho optical jflass now produced by Britain. French and Japanese submarine flotillas also are largely equipped with British optical apparatus.
